When a young woman is found after tearing her own eyes out, the supernatural are the prime suspects. It’s upto Christopher, part of the witch hunter unit to find the witch suspected of causing witchcraft on the young woman. For this Christopher must take his journey far away from the home as he knows it before the witch completes her deadly ritual. But it’s about to cause problems between himself and his brother. Both the brothers share one body, changing between night and day. Each person in this world has a different identity- what is known as a day brother/sister and a night brother/sister. One can only be out during the night and the other, during the day.

I absolutely loved the concept of this book.  I thought it was very unique and offered an interesting take. It’s told in first person which gives us a better viewing of their powers and see their visions as they do. We also get to see their viewpoint as they struggle dealing with each other as brothers sharing one body especially when it seems as though one of them has something to hide. The conflict between both characters made for an interesting read as both characters are so different from each other.

Set in the 18th Century, the story is split into two parts the first part following  Christopher and the second part followed Alexsander. Its really Christopher’s journey to find the witch that takes centrefold as we join them in their discovery of new places in this immersive world the author has created and as they meet a variety of different characters.

For the most parts it’s quite a light read but it can get a bit dark at times because of the action and magic within the book. There are some bloody moments as you can expect as well as some mystery as Christopher tries to solve what happened.

An amazing book to surround yourself in if you’re after something with lots of action, brilliant world building and interesting characters.

If you love your fantasies mixed with adventures then you’ll love this one.

Out May 12th!
